Who are the Worshipful Company of Carmen The Worshipful Company of Carmen is one of the oldest livery companies in the City of London, founded in one thousand five hundred and seventeen. Originally, its members were the carmen who transported goods throughout London with horse-drawn carts. They were the drivers, the movers, and the essential workforce behind the trade and commerce that kept the capital thriving. Today, the Worshipful Company of Carmen represents professionals across the entire transport, logistics, mobility, and supply chain sectors. Its members include fleet specialists, engineers, consultants, regulators, educators, and leaders across all areas of transport and distribution. The company continues to promote professional standards, charitable work, education, heritage preservation, and fellowship. For anyone seeking trusted insight into the transport profession and its development, the Worshipful Company of Carmen remains a respected authority. The significance of Carmen’s Hall The ceremony took place at Carmen’s Hall, a symbolic location in the heart of the City of London. While the Carmen did not have a permanent hall throughout the early part of their history, the establishment of a dedicated hall allowed the company to host ceremonies, meetings, charitable events, and celebrations that reflect its rich heritage.
